“It’s the biggest price ever for a V8 Supercar winner and it surprised bookies and punters alike,” said Sullivan.

Garth Tander was heavily backed before the race but Webb provided a huge shock by making an astute tire choice before a torrential downpour.”

Sullivan said those punters wanting to get on Webb for today’s final race shouldn’t expect the same generous odds.

“Webb is at $51 for the final race which is probably another record in terms of odds being slashed,” Sullivan said.

“While punters ignored him yesterday there’s been some money for him to repeat the performance today.”

Jamie Whincup, who will be desperate for a win, is a firm $4.00 favourite for today’s race.
