Socceroos equal favourite for 2011 Asian Cup

The Socceroos are short-priced favourites to win tonight’s Asian Cup clash against Bahrain with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

Australia is paying $1.50 to win the match, with the Draw at $3.75 and Bahrain the outsider at $6.50.

“Not surprisingly the early money for this match has been all for Australia,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane.

“More than 90% of the bets placed on the match have been on the Socceroos.”

Australia is the equal favourite with South Korea to win the Asian Cup at $4, with Japan a close third in the market at $4.33.

“Punters have got the field narrowed down to the top three, and that being the case, the Socceroos currently represent great value at $4,” said Lane.
