Mortgage holders to receive early Christmas present from RBA
Punters with leading online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au believe there’s a good chance mortgage holders will receive some welcome relief in the form of an interest rate cut at tomorrow’s Reserve Bank of Australia board meeting.
The odds for a 25 basis points cut tomorrow is $1.55, while $2.40 is available for those who believe rates will remain on hold.
“Punters clearly believe we’re in for an early Christmas present in the form of a December rate cut and we’re in agreement,” sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane said.
“The odds for a 25 basis points rate cut was at one point $2.30 and has now been backed into $1.55, which is a stunning shift in sentiment.”
