Online bookmaker pays out on Chris Judd to win 2011 Brownlow Medal

Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has declared the 2011 Brownlow Medal over and has paid out bets totaling more than $300,000 on Chris Judd to take ‘Charlie’ home for a third time.

“We’re certain we’d be paying out on Juddy on Brownlow night as it is so punters might as well enjoy their cash early,” sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane said.

“In our opinion he’s having a far more dominant season than last year when he missed the first three games and still picked up 30 votes so good luck to anyone trying to get near him this year.

“We were considering doing this last week and after yet another best-on-ground performance on the weekend it made our decision easy.”

Sportsbet.com.au has a reputation for paying out early on major events, and usually is on the money with their predictions including So You Think to win the 2010 Cox Plate and England to win the 2010/11 Ashes Series. However, this was not the case last year when they paid out on Richmond to win the wooden spoon after only four rounds, only to see the West Coast Eagles finish one place below the Tigers on the bottom of the ladder.

“Nothing is ever certain in bookmaking, but Juddy to win the Brownlow is about as good a thing as you can get,” said Lane.

“Let’s just hope he doesn’t get reported in the next few weeks!

“As with all sportsbet.com.au early payouts, the market remains open, meaning punters who have been paid out can take their cash or can reinvest if they wish.”

Judd is now ‘odds on’ at $1.90 to win the Brownlow, ahead of Marc Murphy and Scott Pendlebury at $7.00.
